W. Brent Honshell, MM

Chief Ancillary Services Officer

Brent Honshell serves as the chief ancillary services officer at Bob Jones University, directing more than a dozen university departments, including retailers and service providers. He also teaches Individual & Family Finance in the School of Business.

Education

Mr. Honshell holds a bachelor’s degree in management from BJU and a master’s in management from Aquinas College and has completed all but the dissertation toward a doctorate in business administration.

Work Experience

Before assuming his present position at BJU, Mr. Honshell served six years as a faculty member in the Division of Management for the School of Business and was the faculty advisor for the University Business Association. From 1997 to 1999, Mr. Honshell served as dean of the School of Applied Studies.

Mr. Honshell won an MVP award from Manufacturer’s Bank in Lansing, Mich., where he was a bank officer and branch manager from 1984 to 1991. He managed a staff of 14 at the second largest branch and was appointed an officer by the bank’s board of directors in 1988.

In the early ’80s Mr. Honshell was assistant manager and sales associate with S&K Famous Brands in Greenville. During his tenure, he was consistently in the top five in total sales among all stores in the chain.

Family

Mr. Honshell and his wife, Beth, have two sons.
