ME 510: History of American Music 3 credits
Designed specifically for the practicing music educator, the course will explore the history of American music through style, historical context, structure, social significance and political impact. Students will complete a final project which connects their own teaching experiences and/or pedagogical concerns to a topic covered in the course.
ME 511: World Music 3 credits
Designed specifically for the practicing music educator, the course will provide a broad overview of musical traditions, styles, instruments and cultures from people around the world with the goal of informing curriculum design.
