About Chuck

He worked in both private practice and as in-house counsel for a computer software company in Raleigh, North Carolina.  His experience in intellectual property law includes patents, trademarks, copyrights, trade secrets, licensing, and due diligence.  Dr. Evans earned his undergraduate degrees in electrical engineering and computer engineering from North Carolina State University and then received his law degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.  He is admitted to practice law in North Carolina, South Carolina, and before the United States Patent and Trademark Office.  In addition to practicing law, Dr. Evans also worked as an administrator at The Wilds Christian Camp and Conference Center, and after attending seminary at Bob Jones University, Dr. Evans and his family served as church-planting missionaries with Baptist Mid-Missions in São Paulo, Brazil.

Dr. Evans draws upon his diverse background of education and experience and shares it with his students in the classroom.  When discussing legal concepts that students may encounter after graduation, he provides illustrations based on his representation of emerging growth, software, and technology companies in numerous areas.  Dr. Evans teaches business law to the accounting, business administration, and sport management students, and he teaches civil litigation, real property law, torts, and family law to students in the paralegal program.  No matter what subject he may be teaching, students will hear Dr. Evans encourage them in their walk with the Lord and to think of their future career as not merely a job, but as an opportunity for ministry in the world of business.
