Larry McKeithan married his sweetheart in 1993 before earning his Bachelor of Criminal Justice from Bob Jones University in 1995. After graduation, they moved to Tammie’s hometown in North Carolina where he worked as the manager of a cell phone store, then as acting head of security in a Hilton hotel while he attended North Carolina’s Basic Law Enforcement Training (BLET). After graduating from BLET, he served as a police officer with Reidsville P.D. until August 2001 when he became a campus police officer at Bob Jones University. Since moving back to South Carolina, he has completed over 870 hours of law enforcement training and become certified as a Specific Skills Instructor, a BID Instructor, and a Firearms Instructor through the S.C. Criminal Justice Academy. He worked part-time for the Yanceyville Police Department from 2002-2008, and he maintains his law enforcement certification in both North and South Carolina. He is a member of the South Carolina Law Enforcement Officer Association.
In 2009, McKeithan earned a Master of Criminal Justice from Tiffin University in Ohio, and he has completed 27 hours of postgraduate work in International Development at the University of Southern Mississippi. He joined the faculty at Bob Jones University in 2006, and he enjoys interacting with his students both in and out of the classroom. He is especially thankful for his wonderful wife and three children God has blessed him with.
