Business

Associate of Science

Overview

Business is a calling for Christians, not just a way to earn a living. That’s why you’ll learn to be business savvy in a way that honors God and benefits you. This program will equip you with the biblical foundation needed to excel in business as you explore topics such as personal integrity and scriptural business ethics.

Program

You’ll be equipped to master business concepts and practices through the basics of business theory within a biblical worldview. Through courses in accounting, HR, marketing and entrepreneurship, you’ll learn how to apply foundational business principles wherever you work. And with case studies that will expose you to various real-world situations, you’ll be challenged to analyze complex problems through the lens of Scripture.

You’ll also receive a broader understanding of your field through business grads who share their insights into current trends and markets periodically in your classes. At BJU you’ll learn how to glorify God and lead in your job, family, church and community.

BJU Core

In the business world adapting to change is essential to success. Through courses in English, speech and the arts, you’ll know how to build common ground with future contacts, speak with confidence and thrive in any job. With Bible courses, you’ll gain a foundation on the truth of God’s Word so you’ll know what you believe, why you believe it and how to share your testimony for Christ.

Electives

Since the business associate degree packs a lot into 2 years, the BJU Core uses many electives. However, taking online summer courses or increasing your semester course load will open space for more electives.

BJU offers students lots of ways to network with employers and organizations. Many jobs are posted each year on Career Central, our online job board. And more than 60 businesses and 150 Christian schools/organizations/mission boards recruit students through on-campus interviews and job/ministry fairs.

Our Center for Career & Calling also holds seminars on resume prep and interview techniques.

Learning Experience

UBA Forum

University Business Association

In the University Business Association (UBA), you’ll interact in forum setting with successful Christian business professionals who’ve used their work for ministry and pointing others to Jesus. Strengthen your leadership skills by joining the Executive Council, a student-led, UBA group that organizes UBA events, including a yearly Bible Conference offering fundraiser.

Community Service Council

Because community involvement enriches the BJU experience, many business students volunteer for outreach with the Community Service Council (CSC). This student-led organization connects you to local businesses and communities and oversees events such as cleaning up the Greenville Zoo and local parks, sponsoring an on-campus blood drive and collecting funds for charitable organizations.
