Dr. Amos Kasperek

Subject:
Foreign Language

Description:
In 2017 the American Academy of Arts & Sciences published their report entitled “America’s Languages: Investing in Language Education for the 21st Century.” The report, a product of the Academy’s Commission on Language Learning, overviews the critical need for bilingual professionals in the United States and abroad as a vital component of America’s success and growth in areas such as business, healthcare, international diplomacy, law enforcement, and national security. The findings of this report reveal numerous opportunities where proficiency in a second language greatly increases the marketability and effectiveness of professionals as they prepare to work and influence society in the 21st century. This workshop will present an overview of the Commission’s findings and the open door for ministry in a wide variety of fields where second language proficiency is a needed asset.
