Master of Public Health
Overview
At the forefront of academic excellence and advocacy for healthier communities, the Master of Public Health program seeks to train a new generation of public health leaders capable of innovative health interventions both locally and abroad.
The rigorous curriculum prepares students to become leading public health professionals equipped with diverse, fact-based techniques to tackle present-day worldwide health issues.
The program builds on experiential learning and student-centered integrative learnings models with an emphasis on equity, partnerships and positive societal change from a biblical perspective.
The program requires 42 credit hours, a public health practicum and a capstone project.
Faculty
Your faculty bring to their classes many years of teaching experience as well as clinical experience in medical, educational and global missions’ settings. Your faculty have maintained clinical practice in their areas of interest to enrich the connection between classroom content and real-world preparation.
Along with rich clinical experiences and academic backgrounds, your faculty have ongoing research studies and outreach opportunities in the community and in various areas around the world in which students may participate.
Entrance Requirements
Students admitted to the Master of Public Health program will meet or exceed institutional requirements due to the standard admissions criteria regulated by the admission committee in accordance with the requirements laid out by the Council on Education for Public Health.

Program Objectives
Each student will:
- Evaluate the influence of the interaction between the environment, biology, lifestyles, and health systems on disease distribution, health disparities, and health outcomes.
- Apply quantitative and qualitative investigation methods to collect, analyze, and interpret health-related data and use findings to guide action.
- Analyze country health systems using an equity-focus approach to generate new ideas for healthcare reform and health policy change.
- Create, implement, and evaluate health promotion programs to address current and emerging public health issues using relevant theories and models.
- Lead through identifying and solving public health issues and effectively communicating to a variety of audiences.
- Apply an ethical and biblically based worldview to public health research and practice with culturally diverse populations.
- Propose evidence-based policies and strategies aiming at improved quality of life and survival across the lifespan from embryo-fetal life to old age.
