About Cait

Cait Reid currently serves at Bob Jones University as an assistant professor and program coordinator in the Division of Educational, Child, & Family Studies. She graduated from BJU with a B.A. in Spanish in 2011. She completed her Master's in Social Work from the University of Northern Iowa in 2013. She is currently pursing her Ed.D. in Community Care & Counseling, Traumatology from Liberty University.

Cait spent four years working for an adoption agency in South Carolina, where she had the opportunity to work with both adoptive and birth families. During this time, she received her certification as a Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI) Practitioner from Texas Christian University and is very passionate about helping children and families to navigate through trauma. Cait had the opportunity to move to the Dominican Republic where she worked as an elementary school counselor for four years prior to moving back to the US to teach at BJU.

Cait loves her work at BJU and has enjoyed helping to strengthen the social services concentration here. She is passionate about equipping others to do what God has called them to do with their lives, specifically in relation to social work and trauma-informed care. She loves spending her summers traveling abroad and working with NGOs/nonprofits in other countries, primarily Uganda and Colombia at this time. When she is not traveling, she enjoys spending time with her dogs, Luna & Willo, and playing volleyball and basketball as often as possible.
