Test of English for Admission
TOEFL, IELTS, or GATEWAY
If your primary language is not English, we require you to take an English exam for admission to BJU. We accept the TOEFL, the IELTS, or the GATEWAY for admission. Which test you take is your choice; we recommend that you study in advance using preparation materials online so you can demonstrate your best ability. We require official results reported to BJU directly from the test administrator. Consider that scoring time for TOEFL is 10–14 days, scoring time for the IELTS is 5–7 days, and scoring time for the GATEWAY is 1–5 business days.

Undergraduate Requirements
You should earn a TOEFL iBT score of 61 with minimum section scores of 15 to demonstrate your ability to study successfully at the university undergraduate level; or an IELTS score of 6.0 with minimum section scores of 6.0; or a GATEWAY score of 425 with section scores of 375.
Graduate Requirements (Master’s degree)
You should earn a TOEFL iBT score of 79 with minimum section scores of 19; or an IELTS score of 6.5 with minimum section scores of 6.5; or a GATEWAY score of 475 with section scores of 425.
PhD Program
You should earn a TOEFL iBT score of 100 with minimum section scores of 23; or an IELTS score of 7.0 with minimum section scores of 7.0; or a GATEWAY score of 510 with section scores of 475.
