BJU requires all non-native speakers of English to submit English proficiency test scores for admittance. Students who have studied for at least 2 years in person at a U.S. high school are eligible to request a waiver. Accepting a waiver disqualifies you from receiving ESOL academic accommodation.

If your school did not use a U.S.-based curriculum, you must have your transcripts evaluated by a foreign credential evaluation company. Please visit the Admission Process page for more details. Homeschool students do not need to submit a transcript evaluation.

Financial sponsors should submit a signed and notarized financial affidavit guaranteeing the amount they want to sponsor. They must also submit bank statements as proof of funds. If they are sponsoring on behalf of an organization and the submitted bank statement is under the organization’s name, the organization will need to issue a formal letter authorizing your sponsor to utilize the accounts submitted. Yes, the enrollment deposit is refundable until August 1. If you choose to attend BJU, the deposit will be credited towards your first tuition bill.

The affidavit is for the U.S. government and is based on the average cost of living in Greenville, SC, for one year. It includes both direct costs to BJU and indirect costs of the student (like books and personal expenses). That is why the cost is more than what will be owed to BJU — because it also includes personal living expenses.
