Prepare for Rush

Rush is a high-energy, multi-day event at the start of the year where campus comes alive with food, fun, and friendly competition. Societies will go all out to welcome you, hoping to earn your membership by the end of the week. But while the snacks and celebrations are great, Rush is about more than just fun—it's your opportunity to dig into what each society truly values.
You’ll meet officers and members, ask questions, and get a feel for each group’s personality and purpose. To help you navigate the week, you’ll receive a Rush Guide packed with society history, suggested questions, sports and service records, and highlights like the Society of the Year.
By the time induction arrives, you’ll be ready to choose the society that’s the best fit for you—and they’ll be ready to welcome you with open arms (and maybe more food).

Consider carefully
- Ask God for direction.
- Talk to lots of people and ask a lot of questions.
- Take time to consider:
- Look for a society that seeks to please the Lord in everything. Talk to the society president, vice president, other officers and members. Find out what they are doing to please the Lord.
- Find a society in which you can get involved. For example, if you are into sports, find a society that needs you. Or if you want to develop your leadership skills, join a smaller society.
- Join a society where you can make new friends. Let your BJU experience push you beyond your comfort zone.
Questions you could ask
- What does your society look for in new members?
